Melanie Cheng
Melanie Cheng is a writer and general practitioner living in Melbourne. She was born in Adelaide and lived in Hong Kong from 1986 to 1998 before returning to study in Australia. Her work has been published in the UK, the US and in Australian literary journals including Meanjin, Overland, Griffith Review and Sleepers Almanac. Melanie’s short stories have been shortlisted or commended in prizes including the Lascaux Prize for Short Fiction (US), the Bridport Prize (UK), the Hal Porter short story competition, the Fellowship of Australian Writers/National Library of Australia short story award, and the Deborah Cass Prize.
