War Child

War Child Australia is part of the international War Child family and partner of War Child UK. Together with their partners they deliver vital, life-saving work in 9 countries across Africa, Asia and the Middle East. War can be particularly devastating for children. They often find themselves separated from their families and at huge risk of physical harm, violence, abuse or sexual exploitation. Children, if severely affected, can suffer from physical and psychological damage that can last a lifetime. War Child have a unique position as an organisation in Australia which is focussing upon this often-neglected area of children’s rights: ensuring that children are equipped with the resilience and mental health support to cope with the traumas and horrors they’ve experienced in being forced to flee their homes, seek asylum, and witness conflict first-hand. War Child is a charity set up to aid children all over the world whose lives have been torn apart by war. Jessica Adams has co-ordinated the publication of several anthologies to raise money for War Child. A children’s CD was produced in 2004 by Shock Records.
